Start your Hooves 1:1 story here

Therapeutic Hooves' 1:1 sessions are personalised, equine-assisted wellbeing sessions tailored to the specific needs of each individual.

Rather than following a fixed programme, each session is adapted using a person-centred approach so participants can progress at their own pace.

The sessions are designed for children, young people and adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Mental health difficulties

  • Neurodiversity

  • Physical disabilities

  • Additional needs

  • Life-limiting conditions

  • Other complex life challenges

Sessions involve working alongside our horses in a calm, supportive environment focussing on nature-based activities, and therapeutic exercises that encourage connection, communication, and emotional awareness.

Our emphasis is on building skills and confidence through meaningful interaction with the horses.

We aspire to :

  • Develop emotional regulation strategies

  • Build confidence and self-esteem

  • Increase resilience

  • Improve emotional understanding

  • Learn positive coping techniques

  • Promote overall mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing

Therapeutic Hooves is an official Hertfordshire County Council approved alternative provision provider receiving referrals from organisations including CAMHS, schools, social services, foster support services, colleges, care homes, and secure hospital units, while ensuring that every session is tailored to the individual's needs and aspirations.
